Condom Promotion and awareness campaign
Free distribution of condoms in Southern Africa.
As part of the campaign "I Love You Positive or Negative", and with the support of local partners, Designing Hope has established since 2005, a large distribution of condoms packed in pouches illustrated by the works of "Artists4life ".

Lightbulbs conception
Since 2003, 60 big names in fashion have come together against HIV/AIDS in Africa by designing Ithemba lightbulbs. The lightbulbs are then hand-made by South African women living with AIDS: coloured and decorated with silicon, thin wire and beads to become real sculptures. For the "I Love You Positive or Negative" campaign, fighting against the stigma and discrimination towards HIV positive people, Designing Hope has produced a set of posters presenting artworks from contemporary artists and messages from various celebrities supporting the campaign.

Prevention Campaign
Television Campaign in South Africa
To ensure the broader reach of the prevention campaign " I Love You Positive or Negative " in Southern Africa, Designing Hope organized a number of filmed clips of local personalities to be broadcast. These clips were spread out during a period of 6 months according to the agreements made with local broadcasters.

Support for the refugees of Zimbabwe living in the city center of Johannesburg
Support for the refugees of Zimbabwe
Designing Hope set up a project of support for the Zimbabwean community of the city center of Johannesburg. This action includes the improvement of the sanitary conditions, the construction of toilets, supply of mattresses and sheets, heating and nutritional support, for a home-based care for patients affected by the HIV and the tuberculosis.

Artists4Life in South Africa
South African artists have interpreted the campaign theme of Designing Hope in an exhibition held at Alliance Franaise of Johannesburg on the 1st december 2006. This Artists4life exhibition has also been shown at Noisy Le Grand in September/October 2007.

Know Your Body Support Programme - November 2004-April 2005
Aids awareness, and body knowledge: Designing Hope supported for an initial 6 months period the training of 400 people in the Durban area with Create Africa South. Aids awareness, and body knowledge. Targeted population: Young people aged 12 to 14, and people living in rural areas.

Hope for the townships
The project "Hope for the townships" was a help program for the HIV positive people to follow them in their treatment and every-day life. It was launched in 2004 with the association Wola Nani and the Desmond Tutu HIV Center, who supported them psychologically, nutritionnally and medically.
