About us...
Designing Hope has become a growing actor since 2003 in Europe and Africa to support people affected by HIV/AIDS and fight stigmas and discrimination. Thanks to a permanent link between community actions and sensitization programs in Europe and in Africa, it has been constantly adapting messages and actions to develop efficient concepts benefiting small groups of people in micro projects as well as millions of individuals through national campaigns.

Founded in April 2003, Designing Hope is involved in projects run in 6 African countries, mainly in Southern Africa (South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique) and in Burkina Faso, with programs adapted to the specific context of each region.

It supports mainly woman and children affected by HIV AIDS, victims of exclusion or discrimination, or affected by poverty.
These targeted populations can benefit from various social projects organized by Designing hope with local partners: they can enjoy school support, nutritional aid, access to training in the field of agriculture, crafts, social support and prevention, which can lead to regular income generating activities.

These activities contribute to strengthen psychologically, promote social inclusion and self-esteem.
One of Designing Hope's objectives is to encourage beneficients of its projects to become themselves development actors, able to support and train their compatriots.

Designing Hope has mobilized over the years many international artists to strengthen its local actions in Africa.
It creates cultural and social bridges between France and other countries in Europe and Africa, promoting understanding and exchange.

Treatments (when available) allow now to live with HIV, but these medical progress do not obviously concern the ones infected with the virus who do not know their HIV status. It's often an ignorance of disease, but also the fear of being rejected by her family, which constitute the major barrier to the voluntary testing.

This is why Designing Hope programs strive above all to fight against stigma. Its unique prevention campaigns lies in the originality and strength of visual messages through the contribution of contemporary artists and international personalities. These campaigns are available depending on the specific needs of each region and the sensitivity of those targeted.

"I love you Positive or Negative"
This message created by Designing Hope became the starting point a wide campaign to problems of stigma faced by people living with HIV/Aids.

In Europe and in Africa, the campaign has gathered many international personalities, and contemporary artists.

In the campaigns of the organization, messages and testimonies, are associated with original artwork and reproduced on prevention materials.

These tools are used to initiate dialogue and understanding among the communities most affected.
